Whizzing by
I tried a few shots & infact will still continue till the Friday deadline. For now, this is the best I have. Got this one on Stevens Canyon road. Went there in the afternoon, so really didn't see as many bikers as I had expected.
I would have wanted the lower half of the biker to be a little more clear, but then again..its all about blur. The more blur the better..I say :) Also, the biker could have been on the left of the picture showing the road ahead.
Shutter: 1/40
Aperture: 18
ISO : 100
Evaluative Metering
AF Servo Setting
I have tried some where the moving object is blur & everything around is in focus. Here are some shots

Nice pic, Dumma. You said it right, the rule of third would've been preferred.
ReplyDeleteYou will see a lot more bikers on Steven's Canyon earlier in the day. If u head up the hills a bit, u will see a lot of mountain bikers.
Nice bike too, but I would prefer a Fuji myself, and a different colored bike while I'm at it :-)
The Caltrain shots are pretty good, except for the yellow light. Looks like u had fun shooting these people on a cold night.
very cool shot dumma.. a classic motion blur.. consider a bit of contrast or turn down the brightness.. the tarmac/road and back of the rider's shirt is a bit too bright..
ReplyDeletedid you use your new lens for this ?? :)
Done Seshu man. Uploaded another with less contrast..let me know what you think
ReplyDelete....good stuff. I tried a bunch of these, but with Akhil as 'The Blur' and the background as still. Clearly, this option is better where the subject is frozen.
ReplyDeleteIdeally...the biker's shadow is trailing him/her....instead of in front of him. But, that is just based on the angle of the sun....
Very nice pic! The rider is also blurred below the waist. is that because the focus was on the upper body and the legs are further away? Just trying to understand if this was intentional or an accident!
