A blur of fishes
Mom & daughter enjoy the beauty of life under water.
Given that the Monterey Bay Aquarium doesn't allow tripods inside, this was shot hand-held, hence the not so crisp picture. Since it was pretty dark inside, the ISO was set at 1600 (the maximum setting my Canon allows). I under-exposed the shot at f/4, and shutter speed of 1/10sec.
Personally, I would've preferred if Baby/Mom were positioned to the right third of the picture, following the rule of thirds.

Nice silhouette. For a moment a thought P was looking up at the school of fish.
ReplyDelete1. Agree with the rule of 3rd. Although I really don't follow it myself
2. If the shutter speed was a tad slower..you would have gotten a dramatic streak of silver at the back. But without a tripod, I wouldn't try it either.
Of-course I love it. Enjoyed being the subject of the photo.
ReplyDeleteI should have stood at a different place and avoided the joint in the glass. Oh well!
bode, this is a good one.. the planning part of it perfect.. and you had a great place to execute it.. rule of the third is a nice thing, but i think in this case, P being in the center kinda gives a positive dimension to the pic.. as in it makes it seem like she is watching this awesome scene unfolding right in front of her..
ReplyDeleteThe image is a bit grainy but ISO was 1600.. so, i guess it is to be expected.. what i would do to make it look a bit better is to reduce the size of the image a bit..
....good shot. I think that was one of the few moments you got of Aanya staying still, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat results with no use of a tripod.
Good picture. But I'm unable to tell which is the blurred area. Probably because of the ISO speed, that Sheshu mentioned or is it because there is not a contrast of a crisper subject to amplify the blur?
