this is what happens when you have time, you get back from work before 9pm, you see almost full moon and you think of a fruit :)
there are a million things wrong with this picture.. i tried quite a few times to fix a lot of them problems.. and i couldn't.. if you have ideas on how to make it (it being an object some crazy number of miles away) sharper.. do let me know..
I didn't pan or blur the traditional way.. i just played with the zoom..and absolutely no photo shop or post processing tricks.. if you need more details, ask me.. I probably would have gotten better results if i tried harder and with few more iterations.. but i guess this will just have to do for now..

Woah! How did you get this picture?
ReplyDeleteYeah..is that the sun behind the moon? what's the shutter speed?
ReplyDeletegreat. you got the right exposure timing while zooming. how long did u expose?
ReplyDeleteCanon EOS 5D
ReplyDeleteLens: Canon 100-400 f4.5-5.6 L
ISO: 100
Exposure: 2.5 sec
Aperture: 40.0
Focal Length: 100mm
I basically started with 400mm side of the zoom and as i pressed the shutter, i moved the zoom down (As slow/uniform as i could) .. tried a few shots and then settled on this one.. should have started earlier.. but it was pretty late and moon was half way up and harder to aim at :)
a few more shots from last night are here

Awesome shot..very cool idea. I have seen a couple of pictures like this of comets. But I think that is with a BULB exposure.
ReplyDeleteI would say :
10 for originality
9.5 for execution
almost looks like the moon has a satellite revolving around it.
ReplyDeleteVery creative shot!!
I thought the Moon was giving birth :-)
ReplyDeleteGood one, Sheshu.
Very interesting way of capturing movement...
ReplyDeleteWill try this on some other object ..
