U could use a faster shutter speed to make the balls visible. It's hard to make out the balls with the current settings. Try to shoot the same picture by doing a few things; Set the camera on a tripod. Use a shutter release. Set the aperture to f/8. Try the shutter speed of 60. If u don't see enough blur, slow down a tad. Shoot till u get the balls visible so that we can make out the balls. Try a different background for the subject.
Yup, the shutter speed has to be faster. The slower the shutter, the objects become transparent.
On another note, is it possible to use a combination of pictures to get the trajectory of the balls. That would be really cool. I am sure there are tricks in PS which can give you that efeect.
