capturing THE moment....
i've always admired shots with fast shutter speed (action, sports) where you can 'freeze' a moment that the naked eye would never see in this way. My lovely assistant and I took a number of shots and even broke a martini glass in the process....but, we both liked this one the best. I have others on my Picasa site with multiple colors in wine glasses, but couldn't get individual droplets to shine like this.
ISO: 100
F-stop: 16
Shutter speed: 800
Lens: 18-200 mm VR

Dude,
ReplyDeleteThis is impressive. You can even see that the glass needs some cleaning :) I like the way the water is swirling around the martini glass.
Very fresh idea & its a perfect picture for a saturday evening. Lemme go get my scotch..
Only thing I would change is maybe not have the plant in the background. Its a little distracting. Also, I would have put the glass slightly off-center, like in P's picture.
I absolutely love this picture! I like the clarity of the shot. I am gonna try it one of these days.
ReplyDeleteBTW is the shutter speed number you posted correct? mine was 3600.
Very very nice picture, Chethan. Kudos to your assistant and you. Love the "frozen moment", certainly puts you in a good mood for an evening of fine wine & dining.
ReplyDeleteDid u set the focal point to manual to get the focus point on the martini glass? And I've no clue how you got this shallow depth of field with a f/16 setting. I thought a lot more would be in focus with that aperture. I guess I'm wrong.
Is that a red cube that is splashed into the drink? Doesn't look like a cherry.
Lovely picture indeed.
wow!! great shot. A little higher shutter speed would frozen it even more. good team work
ReplyDeleteWaste of good vodka! $#@^*%
ReplyDeleteJust joking! :)
Love the shot! How would it have looked if it was shot from slightly above or below, so you get a bit of distortion of the glass?
